I am an introverted, lifelong geek, who loves fantasy. I have watched Star Trek since I was a kid, but only recently got into Star Wars (I live for Poe, Finn and Rey). My first and forever movie is Labyrinth.
Writing's always been a big part of my life as well, and I've written stories about elemental mages, reluctant Chosen Ones, agoraphobic werewolves and killers with a change of heart, clockwork girls that see ghosts, and most recently, a girl from a long line of storytellers who is an expert on her strange hometown, which people would understand if they just believed her.
Right now, I am editing for a small publisher, working on the zero draft of the new novel, and slowly building a small craft business to help fund my joy of wrapping gemstones, sewing bags and stuffed animals, and painting abstract galaxies.
I have two BAs, in English and Psychology, and an MA in English with a concentration in creative writing. For five years, I taught a variety of courses in English, along with psychology and a Success (college and life skills) course. I'm still writing, and editing, but also looking to break out and in to a new industry like marketing.
I read a lot, listen to an eclectic range of music, draw when the mood strikes me, and am slowly expanding my understanding of Photoshop and computers, a great feat for someone who was computer illiterate for years. I also like to sing, and with the right group can be persuaded to go to karaoke.
I have a writing blog: http://coffeequill.blogspot.com (I ramble about word counts, niggling book ideas, challenges I encounter, along with the occasional book review or, analysis of tv shows and movies. But I don't update it nearly as much as I should.)
